What’s it Really Like? (WIRL) resources support young people to experience workplaces early, at Year 9, before they select their senior school study areas that lead to their vocational and academic careers. The resources support two different forms of delivery:
- Industry Experience Workshops
- Class Based VET Certificate II
The story of WIRL
NELLEN and NETRACKS received funding from Regional Development Victoria to pilot the Ovens Murray Workforce Development Project. This was inspired by the Mansfield Agribusiness Program.
This project looked at strengthening pathways for young people into training and employment in specific industries. The focus was on Year 9 students, with 19 secondary schools across the Ovens Murray involved in the pilot.
The pilot project is now complete and the resources are available via this website.
